About Skagit State Bank
We’re locals, just like you.
Established back in 1958 by the late James P. Bishop along with other local investors, Skagit State Bank remains an independent bank, run by local people, to serve local people. Today, under the leadership of our Chief Executive Officer Cheryl R. Bishop, we’ve grown to more than 177 employees, with more than $500 million in assets. We offer a wide range of financial services in everything from tried-and-true statement savings to commercial lines of credit. And although we’ve come a long way since we opened our doors over 50 years ago, you’ll still find our home office located in Burlington, Washington with offices throughout Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties.

You’ll also find we’re still locally owned and operated in Northwest Washington with an in-depth understanding of local conditions. We offer 24-hour banking by phone, debit card or ATM. You can also log on and bank 24/7 on our convenient online banking services. And because we understand the local housing market, we offer home equity loans and mortgages at competitive rates.

And that’s just the beginning. Being a locally owned, full-service bank has other pluses—like being able to react quickly to meet the unique needs of our customers. It also means that we invest heavily in the communities and organizations that make this area so special. From 4-H clubs to hospital foundations, even adult sports teams—it’s all about supporting the local community. Our community.

So when it comes to our commitment to the community, we’ve never changed our focus: giving you the kind of personal service other banks have all but forgotten about. Call it an independent spirit, or call it local pride, for us we just call it business as usual.
