Strength and Security - Message from James Carmichael, Kitsap Bank President & CEO
In the midst of uncertain financial times, when it seems the news is replete with stories about a declining economy and failing banks, it is fitting, even reassuring, that Kitsap Bank recently celebrated its Centennial year. Kitsap Bank is deeply rooted in its community, and has weathered many a financial storm together with our customers. We are strong; the picture of stability with one-hundred years to our credit.
In an era of corporate mergers, Kitsap Bank has remained the true local bank that cares about its customers and communities. Building long-term relationships is a commitment that everyone at Kitsap Bank takes very seriously. These personal, in-touch relationships are possible due to our unparalleled team of bankers, which now spans five Western Washington counties. Their years of experience, dedication, and willingness to try new approaches gives Kitsap Bank the flexibility and expertise to forge hard-working relationships.
Kitsap Bank began as a small bank with one location in Port Orchard, and has grown to be a leader among community banks in the nation with 24 offices in the Greater Puget Sound region. Today, our assets are over $814 million strong, and we employ over 250 people.
Our longevity and consistent ownership and management have greatly impacted our communities. They look to us as a stabilizing force, providing leadership not only for their finances but also in giving back - both time and dollars - to the communities where we live and work. In the past six years alone, Kitsap Bank has committed well over $1 million to non-profits and service organizations through our Community Partner Program; and our employees have given countless hours in volunteer time.
We are very proud of our track record, and look forward to continuing a tradition of strength, stability and service into our second century!
