About Us
At the close of business on February 1, 2008, First Mutual Bank joined Washington Federal Savings as the company’s Eastside Division.
First Mutual was founded in 1953 by F. Kemper Freeman, Sr. and other local business people who saw a need for banking services, particularly mortgage financing, in the growing communities of the Eastside. Originally named Eastside Savings & Loan Association, the company became publicly traded in 1985 and operates 12 branches in Puget Sound.
Washington Federal is a Northwest-headquartered institution with 150 branches in eight western states. The publicly-traded company (Nasdaq: WFSL) specializes in residential and commercial real estate lending and retail deposits and was founded in Seattle in 1917.
About Monroe Branch
In 1968, First Mutual Bank opened the Monroe Banking Center. It remained at its original location until March 1993, when we introduced a brand new building conveniently located right on US Hwy 2!

Jeffrey joined First Mutual in 2004 as manager of our Juanita Banking Center. He has three years experience working as a senior member services consultant at Watermark Credit Union. Jeffrey holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington and currently resides in Monroe. Jeffrey is the Investment Services Representative for Juanita.

FROM BELLEVUE: Take I-405 northbound towards Everett. Take exit #23 -- SR 522 eastbound-- towards Woodinville/Wenatchee. Stay on SR-522 for 14 miles. As SR-522 ends, turn left onto US-2. After 0.4 miles, the banking center will be on your left.
